Abstract

This research addresses family violence as a global public health problem with devastating effects in all parts of the world, being one of the main causes of death, its impact is reflected in alarming figures; Gender violence, in particular, is a structural manifestation aimed at maintaining or increasing the subordination of women to the male gender. Although there are laws and regulations to address this problem, family violence remains a complex phenomenon that requires a multidisciplinary approach and an effective response by authorities and health professionals; In the specific context of the Fiscal District of Cajamarca, this study seeks to raise awareness and motivate action to prevent and address cases of family violence, involving a multidisciplinary team, both institutional and inter-institutional, to offer relevant conclusions and recommendations. Regarding the methodology, the analytical and inductive method was used, the study population consists of 3222 cases of family violence, with a sample of 343 cases. The results obtained offer a detailed view of the distribution rate of family violence in various categories during 2015, providing a snapshot of the magnitude and persistence of this phenomenon in Peruvian society; the constant frequency of family violence, both physical and psychological, throughout the year indicates the seriousness and urgency of addressing this social problem. In addition, it is observed that the police department is the most active in addressing the demands of family violence, suggesting greater awareness and response from local authorities.
