An assessment was conducted on the impact of two diets with different protein levels in the feeding of Muscovy ducks, considering it as an alternative to enhance productive variables. The experimental design involved the participation of 100 one-day-old ducks, without gender discrimination, randomly distributed into two treatments (T1 and T2) with 50 ducks each, at the San José farm in Baños del Inca, Cajamarca. The experiment lasted for 12 weeks. The results reveal that ducks in treatment T1, with a higher protein level in the starter, grower, and finisher rations, exhibit significantly better productive values compared to T2 (p<0.05). Specifically, ducks in T1 reached a final weight of 3 462 g, in contrast to 3 280 g in T2. Additionally, the food consumption was 10 961 g and 11 605 g for T1 and T2, respectively, while the feed conversion was 2.62 and 3.03 for T1 and T2, respectively. It is concluded that the careful increase in protein intake significantly improves productive variables. Consequently, Muscovy duck farming in Cajamarca emerges as a highly beneficial alternative for animal protein production.
