Abstract

The research was carried out with the objective of determining the influence of terrasil on compacted high plasticity clay soil, for which altered soil samples were obtained from pits made in the Bendiza town, district of Jesús, provincial and Cajamarca Region, which were transferred to soil mechanics laboratory where general granulometry and consistency limits  tests were carried out, with the results and through the Unified Soil Classification System (SUCS), clay soil with high plasticity CH was obtained, besides special compaction tests were carried out to determine the maximum dry density and the optimal moisture content of the soil by adding different percentages of terrasil, the maximum dry density values are determined 1.78g/cm3, 1.97 g/cm3, 1.92 g/cm3, 1.89 g/cm3, 1.88 g/cm3, 1. 79 g/cm3 and optimal moisture content 17.5 %,  13.8 %, 15.0%, 17.0 %, 16.8 %, 19.5 % adding the percentages of the terrasil additive 0.00 %, 0.017 %, 0.028 %, 0.035 %, 0.052 % and 0.069 %. It is concluded that by adding 0.020 % of terrasil, the highest value of maximum dry density of 1.98 g/cm3 and the lowest value of optimal moisture content of 13.7 % was obtained.
