One dimensional compressibility parameters of clayey soil under different loads
Keywords:
One dimensional consolidation, consolidation coefficient, compressibility coefficient, permeability coefficient, elasticity modulusAbstract
The research has been carried out with the objective of determining the parameters of the one-dimensional compressibility of clay soil with external loads applied to the foundation, for which clay soil samples have been extracted from the Los docentes de la UNC urbanization, Cajamarca district, Cajamarca province and region, the general granulometry and plasticity tests were carried out to classify the soil using the SUCS system, an unaltered sample of 5 cm in diameter and 2 cm in height was obtained and the special one-dimensional consolidation test was carried out with 5 different loads: 1 kg/cm2, 2 kg/cm2, 4 kg/cm2, 8 kg/cm2 y 16 kg/cm2, obtaining the deformation data versus time, which were processed and the compressibility parameters were obtained: consolidation coefficient, compressibility coefficient, permeability coefficient and elasticity modulus, concluding that by increasing the values of the load applied to the clay soil, the values of the coefficient of compressibility and the coefficient of permeability decrease, and the values of the coefficient of consolidation and the modulus of elasticity decrease or increase with increasing load.
