The research aimed to establish how institutional licensing contributed to the quality of higher education at the National University of Cajamarca during the period 2016-2018. The National University of Cajamarca implemented internal reforms to meet the Basic Quality Conditions required by the National Superintendence of Higher University Education (SUNEDU), which allowed it to obtain a six-year institutional operational license to provide educational services in its programs and branches. The licensing process was evaluated through three stages: Documentary Review, On-Site Verification of Basic Quality Conditions, and the issuance of the corresponding resolution. Basic Quality Conditions related to the relevance of the existing academic offerings, the consistency of the strategic institutional management and quality policy, the sustainability of the teaching staff, the consistency of the research policy, the sustainability of infrastructure and equipment, the consistency of student and graduate follow-up actions, and the welfare policy were verified. SUNEDU resolved, through Council Directive Resolution 080-2018SUNEDU/CD dated July 13, 2018, to grant the Institutional License to the National University of Cajamarca to offer educational services at its main campus and branches. Furthermore, it was recognized that the National University of Cajamarca offers 86 study programs, including 29 leading to a bachelor's degree, 28 master's programs, 7 doctoral programs, and 22 specialized programs.
